Importer Exporter Code (IEC) Online Registration in Delhi NCR

Obtaining an IEC number is mandatory for exports and imports, unless specifically exempted. For services or technology exports, IEC No. shall only be required when service provider wish to avail the benefits of chapter 3 Schemes of Foreign Trade Policy (FTP).

Importer Exporter Code of 10 -character alphanumeric number allotted to a person is a key business identification number. Post GST, IEC number is the same as the PAN number. The nature of the firm obtaining an IEC may be any of the follows- Proprietorship, Partnership, LLP, limited company, Trust, HUF and Society.

IEC holder has to ensure that the detail in its IEC is updated electronically every year during April to June period otherwise, IEC shall be de-activated. Application process for IEC and updation in IEC is completely online.

Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC)

As per the Foreign Trade Policy, Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) is required for exporters in order to avail the benefits or concession or an authorisation for import /export. RCMC is issued by Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Board, Development Authority or other competent authority as prescribed in FTP or HBP Vol.1.

From 1st April 2022, it is mandatory for the exporters to file the Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) / Registration certificate (RC) applications for issuance/renewal/amendment through the common digital portal of E-RCMC platform.

Objective of the platform is to provide an electronic contact less, single window for RCMC/RC related processes.
