Certificate of origin is a document that is used in international trade transactions which attests that the product listed therein has met certain criteria to be considered as an originating in a particular country.
This type of certificate of origin states that the goods being exported or imported or not given any preferential tariff treatment and duties must be levied upon the goods that are being moved.
This type of certificate of origin is given towards goods that are subject to preferential tariff treatment in the payment of duties. These duties maybe reduction of a normal tariff or complete exemption of the tariffs. Such situation arises when two or more nations reach trade agreement requiring such exemptions when goods are exported or imported between these nations.
Online platform for issuance of said certificate of origin has been developed by the Govt. which is a single point access for all Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs), for all designated CoO issuing agencies and for all export products.
